Waverly is a charming boutique bookshop cafe and cooking school located in the heart of South Pasadena. Although we offer a wide variety of hot and iced drinks, we also provide savory and sweet food options, too. Whether you’re stopping for your morning coffee, lunch, or Fossleman’s Famous Ice Cream, we’ve got you covered! Waverly Cooking School is a school for all ages. Join us for fun and creative classes taught by professional chefs and instructors. With an exciting lineup of cooking and baking classes, community events and celebrity chefs, Waverly Cooking School is your place to learn new recipes and skills, gather with friends or colleagues, or plan a private party. We want to bring the community together over many memorable meals & creative culinary adventures. Giving Back is woven into the tapestry of what we do at Waverly. Our mission is to build a community that brings truth, kindness, generosity & goodness to everything we do.
Upcoming cooking classes include: Cooking Fundamentals: A 4 Class Series, Quick & Easy Weeknight Dinners, Indian Cuisine, Date Night: Italian Style, and 10 Week Baking Series.
For every Cooking Class you take with Waverly, we will donate 10 meals to those in need. Help us fight hunger! Waverly helps various charity partners raise funds and awareness. We donate a percentage of our profits to a rotating monthly charity. Some of the Charities we support include “Books of Africa” where books are donated to classrooms in Africa and the “Joyful Heart Foundation” which makes it possible to change the way society thinks about, talks about and responds to sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse.

Sandy Olivas, the Founder and Owner of Waverly, always dreamed of opening a delightful neighborhood gathering place where children and adults could both enjoy. Her background is in both cooking school operations and the hospitality industry. Sandy is motivated by her amazing children who mean the world to her. Her vision while creating Waverly was for the community to have a place where they could sit down, read a great book with a great cup of coffee and pastry, or take a fun interactive cooking class. Sandy believes that the most important things in life should be your compassion and commitment towards others. She has poured her heart and soul into creating a cozy and caring place for all to enjoy!
