Communal Food and Drink

A modern rustic beer garden

Since 2015, Communal has been serving both quality interpretations of classic dishes and daring new ventures into the uncharted territories of food. The interior, designed by GeorgeArchitecture, reflects the hip sensibilities of the surrounding area while also paying tribute to the community’s storied past.

Locals and Angelenos alike flock to Communal for their thoughtfully curated (and well-crafted!) seasonal pub fair with small production craft beer and wine. All wines are organic, biodynamic, or sustainable and from small production wineries. Beers on tap are all either local or from select US states.

The must tries? Their Charcuterie (served with pickles, mustard & grilled rustic bread *Prosciutto di Parma – 18 month ‘riserva’, Italy *Sopressata – robust salami with black pepper & garlic, California *Communal Pâté de Campagne – pork, chicken liver, 5 spice blend, south Pasadena) Zarzuela (Spanish Seafood Stew – shrimp, cod, manila clams, pei mussels, chorizo, smoked paprika + saffron-tomato broth), and, of course, their to die for Olive Oil Cake (orange zest, vanilla gelato + strawberry compote).
