Effective JUNE 30, 2022, ALL businesses with 5 or more employees MUST offer their workers a retirement plan. Employees include part time, temporary, full time, even the business owner – anyone on payroll! There are many retirement plan options available, some of those options will be discussed. Don’t miss the deadline – penalties may be imposed on businesses not in compliance!
CalSavers is California’s new retirement savings program that will offer millions of workers in California the opportunity to get on track for the future. There is no cost to the employer to join CalSavers.
CalSavers is available to California workers whose employers don’t offer a workplace retirement plan, self-employed individuals, and others who want to save extra. Savers contribute to an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) that belongs to them. Employers that don’t offer their own plan will register for CalSavers by their deadline and facilitate their employees’ access to the Program.
