He later relocated to Texas where he wrote and performed for a number of years with Shake Russell. In 2015 he received the Spirit of Folk Award from Folk Alliance International. Based in Los Angeles, Mary Scholz is a Philadelphia native with her own unique brand of gritty folk-charm. She has toured nationally for over a decade and made several excursions to Europe. Join us as we run, walk, roll, and bike to support the Institute for the Redesign of Learning in its mission to empower individuals of all abilities to take charge of their own learning and lives and to provide learning opportunities for families, professionals, and communities to support those efforts. Build your team and come out to support our Almansor and Westmoreland Academy, Community Outreach, Clinical Services, Early Childhood Education, and Adult Services. The 5K starts on the historic Arroyo Seco Trail located by the South Pasadena Baseball Fields and is flat with a gradual incline. Water stations will be provided at various places throughout the trail. Participants who need assistance, walkers, and beginners are recommended to start from the back. He has also worked extensively with Mike Stinson, Jim Lauderdale, and Chris Shiflett among others. Emily Zuzik is an L.A.-based Americana singer-songwriter. She brings to her songs a woman’s vulnerability and strength in the tradition of Patsy Cline and Madonna. South Pasadena Beautiful is partnering with Friends of South Pasadena Nature Park and City of Pasadena to host an event at South Pasadena's Arroyo Woodland and Wildlife Nature Park. The Restoration Concerts Committee of the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library will be presenting a Restoration Concert on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. featuring pianist Robert Thies and violinist Kerenza Peacock The program includes music by Brahms, Schumann, Mozart and Debussy. Tickets will be available at the door for $25. The concert will be held in the beautiful historic Library Community Room at 1115 El Centro St. in South Pasadena.
