Known as "South Pas" - We're The City of Trees
Visit our historic main street, Mission Street-home to an eclectic mix of merchants. And Fair Oaks Ave. is part of the original Route 66. Here you'll find a nostalgic soda fountain right alongside trendy cafés, shops and stops. Several times each year the business district hosts festivals, like the Cruz' for Roases Car show and the Eclectic Music Festival & Art Walk. On Independence Day, it's pancakes, fireworks and a parade!

Great Schools Mean Business Here
The South Pasadena Unified School District schools' are repeatedly ranked among the best in California. Great schools attract great people who like to live, work and play in their own back yard. In 2008 we built a State-of-the-art track and field at the High School. And the Middle School is undergoing a major expansion plan, scheduled to open in Fall 2011.
The Arts are Alive in SouthPas
For world-class theatre in an intimate venue, visit the Fremont Centre Theatre. Visual arts come to life on the gallery walls. Firefly Bistro hosts Wine & Song each Wednesday, hosted by Brad Colerick, and Burger, Beer & Blues on Thursdays during the Farmers' Market. And regular free concerts and open mic nights occur at the South Pasadena Music Center and Conservatory.
A Natural Setting
Canopies of century-old trees line our streets. From Craftsman-style bungalows to modern hilltop mansions to downtown lofts, in SouthPas we're famous for our arbors and our architecture - including the first transit housing on the Metro Gold Line, Mission Meridian Village.
Check out our Fourth of July Parade. Every New Years Day for over 100 years we've had a float in the Tournament of Roses. And every Thursday night, you'll find your friends at our Farmer's Market.
Par 3 for the Course
Arroyo Seco Golf Course A treasure of SouthPas is the Arroyo Seco Golf Course, offering affordable golf to the Los Angeles area for more than 50 years. The course consists of 18 holes of par 3 golf, a lighted driving range, putting green, minature golf, restaurant and pro shop facilities. The average round takes just over 2-1/2 hours to play. Although the prices are low the quality is not sacrificed. Arroyo Seco boasts some of the finest greens in the area all year long.
Location, Location, Location.
Just five miles from downtown LA or minutes from Pasadena, we're easy to find by car. We're walking distance, too, with our new Gold Line stop at Mission Station. And we're a popular site for movie and TV production. Click here for a great online map!
Balancing Growth and Preservation
Situated at the end of America's first freeway, we're proud of our history, balancing growth with preservation. Working proactively with our neighbors and state agencies on a palette of traffic improvements, SouthPas has planned major changes to the 110 interchange on Fair Oaks Ave. Getting here-or wherever you're going-will be easier than ever.
Don't Pass by South Pas!
Come pass some time with us, and see why people come to play-and then they stay. Wonderful. Walkable. South Pasadena.
